Programme "Cartas com Ciência"
Portuguese-speaking scientists exchange letters with students in Portuguese-speaking countries during one school year
The programme Cartas com Ciência wants to inspire children in the nine CPLP countries, the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, to consider higher education and, in particular, scientific careers.

The CPLP countries
During one school year, students will exchange letters in Portuguese with researchers* from different fields across the world. For many of these children, it will probably be the first time they receive a letter! Each letter round is inspired by a specific topic: "Knowledge and Education", "Overcoming Obstacles" and "Inspire".

Our team organises the programme directly with scientists and teachers in CPLP countries. Each student exchanges letters with one scientist, and all students in each class participate in the programme, regardless of their initial interest in science.
* Scientists participating may be from any career stage and field of expertise, as long as they conduct or have conducted research activities.
